I AM DR. DRE
I don’t rap, but I crack
Dr. Andre Bugawan is a holistically-minded chiropractor and business owner based in Sacramento, California.
Born into a Filipino-American military family, he moved to Japan from the Bay Area when he was thirteen and lived there until completing his Associate of Arts in General Studies from University of Maryland University College online. He relocated back to California in 2013 to pursue his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Sacramento State, followed by his Doctor of Chiropractic in 2020 from Palmer College of Chiropractic.
Bugawan’s interest in the field began in his undergraduate pursuits, when a chiropractor guest-attended a class to showcase the scientific logos of chiropractic adjustment and the value of owning a business. Plagued by shoulder tendinosis, Bugawan visited a chiropractor and experienced relief, sparking further motivation to help others live pain-free.
He specializes in sports medicine, a chiropractic approach that is suitable for both high-performing athletes as well as any person using their bodies to complete everyday tasks.
The dailyness of the body and its demands validate the value of manual adjustments and other treatments Bugawan offers, such as rehabilitative exercise, soft tissue work, and active release.
While many chiropractic offices offer rapid and impersonal care for high prices, Bugawan spends up to a half hour with each patient in personable conversation and focused care, tailoring his approach to meet each patients’ unique needs.
His clientele has included professional golfers and cyclists as well as athletes from teams such as the Warriors and 49’ers, pregnant women, the geriatric, the health-compromised, and any person ages four and up seeking the benefits of chiropractic work. Fluent in English, Japanese, and Tagalog, his office boasts cultural sensitivity and the commendable ability to connect with a versatile demographic.
When Bugawan isn’t working or managing his business, he enjoys weekend excursions, playing tennis, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and rock climbing, eating good food, and exploring Midtown.
